Its A New Year! With New Troubles!

Hoo boy. Its a new year...with newer troubles. However, let me start from where I left off(not including the crazy update).

Basically, I went to the Philippines to do some mission work on the 10th of December. As I said in my testimony, one cannot simply hear the experience, one must take up his cross and go.

However, I CAN spare you the gory parts. Like me and Ian having a 'friendly competition' to kill cockroaches. Yes...the place is INFESTED with them.

The minute we stepped into the church, Ian already killed one. I think Ian defeated me in the end, but still we killed pretty much a lot of cockroaches.

There's also a similarity where Ian and I wore only, what, four pairs of underwear for the entire 11 day trip?

And for the whole trip, only ONCE did I use shampoo, and NEVER did I use soap there. Its quite difficult to wash the soap away when you're using a plastic scoop instead of a shower head to wash up.

Did I also mention that you have to go the well to collect water? And the toilet doesn't have a toilet seat too, which means you have to basically struggle to avoid falling into the toilet bowl.

Oh, and when you use toilet paper, you can't toss them inside the bowl...You have to throw it inside a container beside the toilet bowl...

But besides that, there was also Christmas to contend with. Basically I wasn't too happy about it (my own birthday too! Imagine!), because I was basically sitting alone at the table, since most, if not all, of my friends had either left me to die, or were ignoring me, which one I'm not sure, 'cause they all have the same result: Loneliness

Fortunately Terence was there, and like the Prince I portrayed him to be in my story (Yes...what I codenamed "Project CNL-LotR), he helped and pulled me up from the pits of despair. Samuel, Zhiwei and Ephraim too. I thank you all, my brothers, for being there in my time of need.

What was worse, was that even though there was some animosity between me and this...girl whom I'll call Mel, I got her something more expensive than what i would have gotten for her.

Problem was that I got it from my dad's jewellery shop, and so...One problem led to another, and soon it became a huge mess...

Some bugger decided to spread that the present was $399! The problem only came, however, when her parents found out about it, her dad asked her to refuse it!

Right then, having lost almost my sanity, dignity, and everything else, I took a deep breath and explained to her that it wasn't what she thought it was. After a very very very long time, she finally accepted.

I had wanted to say something else, like "Where's my present?"(hehe...just joking!), but I felt so screwed by everyone else, including Mel, that I just ended it with a suppressed, disappointed,(indeed. I had wanted to YELL!) "Merry Christmas", before I turned my back on her, and walked away.

I tell you, you'd have an easier time trying to propose to a girl. Speaking of proposal, congrats to Mr Reagan Yee and Miss Evelyn Foo for officially hooking up! I'm soooo jealous of Reagan's success. But anyway, life basically sucks still, especially with the reappearance of school.

I can't say God hasn't blessed me though. I got a new wallet :D! My friends have returned (though trying not to trust them that much as before will be hard) to my side, and the first Youth Service this year was a success!!! Pops to all who helped in it! And all the credit goes to...GOD!

I don't know much to say for now...I think I'll just go and sleep or read a book or play a game or continue writing my stories...Never mind!
