The two brothers sat, their feet dangling in the wind as they sat on the edge of the Grand Canyon. They had no fear of falling, simply because they had the ability to float, amongst other abilities.
Both were the last remaining Vassal Kings of Christ; one the Eldest of the Brotherhood; the Earl of Order and the other the Youngest; the Lord of Time. They were there to have a few minutes of rest before they were to undertake a difficult mission: to play a prank on the Prince of Darkness himself. Of course, they knew that nothing would bar their way, or keep them forever in the grasp of Hell, for they were about to receive the Key of Hell to enter, and though they knew that getting hurt was possible, they themselves had volunteered to trick Satan. That said, Jesus had thought of the joke, and though the Lamb of Hosts wanted to go down Himself to play it, He felt that it would be a little rude as the last time He had gone there, everything had gone haywire. Jonathan and Joshua happily asked for the task, as they wanted to see how it was like to twitch the nose of the second most powerful and evil being in existence. But as they sat on the red cliff overlooking the chasm, breathing the cool evening air, Jonathan felt something was bothering his friend. "A penny for your thoughts?" "Is it worth that little?" "Actually less. But I'm offering you a way out." They laughed for awhile, and Joshua lay back on the reddish ground. "I'm feeling a little sad, I think. What seemed to be an impossiblity is now...a reality." The Earl looked over. "Like what?" "Before, I believed that I was simply one who wished to watch over Purity itself. Then suddenly, I realised that I am now wishing, wanting instead to be an honour guard to Life. Is that weird?" Jon blinked. For awhile he halted, trying to decode Joshua's words. "...Oh....I understand what you're trying to say...you mean your object of affections is now-" "Yes. And I am pissed off with myself." Jon lay back as well, his eyes scanning the horizon. "And why is that?" Joshua shook his head slowly, his eyes closed, remembering the vivd dreams that ravaged his mind for the past few days. "For allowing this to happen. For-" "Screw that. Why are you angry for falling in love with her? She probably cares more about-" This time, Joshua cut him off. "Firstly, I'm not even sure that's love. Secondly, she cares more because we treat each other as real friends okay?" Ataraxia sighed. "Look Josh. I'm your brother. I want you to be happy, okay? It's high time you got moving. And remember I'm one hundred percent behind you." Joshua stared off into the beautiful sunset, and he said nothing for awhile. Then he spoke again. "Listen Jon. I don't how you think, but for me this...wooing, or chasing, or whatever you call it...I'm not going to even consider courtship until I am going to marry that girl. Being single does gives me more freedom to move for the Lord. And besides, so many relationships are breaking up so terribly, and especially with people like him around, causing so much pain to so many people..." Jon nodded. He knew who Joshua was talking about. "I guess I'm rather pissed off at those people, even though they had good intentions. Didn't they think about the consequences of their actions?" There was silence for a few moments, and slight flutter of wings could suddenly be heard, but Joshua continued, his emotions running on a high. "Maybe they did, but I think the mindset for today's generation has been captured by the late Kurt Cobain; 'here we are, now entertain us.' They just want to have fun. They're not serious about anything. They don't want a commitment." "Sometimes they are" Said a female voice, soft and quiet. The both of them turned, and they saw her standing behind them. "Oh...hi." Joshua managed to say. "When did you get here?" Jon asked. "Just after Joshua began to speak." Her eyes fell on the youngest of the Ten. "Ah." Was all the Time Lord could say. "We were just relaxing till nightfall before our mission." Jon told the girl. "Yeah. Got to go soon though." The Fatesealer pointed at the darkening sky. She nodded. "I guess what you say is right sometimes. But to say that they didn't think of making the relationship last forever isn't fair to them. Things just...they just..." She paused and collected herself before finishing. "They just went out of control." An uncomfortable silence ensued before she motioned that she had to go, and Joshua remembered her mentioning that she had an E-Math test the next day. Her lustrous brown hair swept the air as she turned, and disappeared in a cloud of black feathers. "And you know that all too well, don't you?" Joshua whispered, his eyes misting over. Jon said nothing for a few seconds, before he tapped on Joshua's shoulder. When Josh turned, he spoke: "Hey, don't think so much about it yeah? We've got a mission to do. But just remember Josh, I'm behind you all the way." Joshua nodded, and dried his eyes. "Yeah. Thanks Jon." They clasped their hands, and Jon gave him a questioning look. "Who are we, Josh?" "Brothers!" The Lord of Time yelled. "Not by blood," The Earl of Order intoned. "But by the Bush." Joshua replied. "And in Jesus Christ's service!" They laughed, and just then the sky turned black. Nightfall. A bright light materialised in front of them, and turned into a portal. From it stepped an Archangel, from the looks of his robes and wings. "Gabriel, I presume?" Jon looked at the scroll in his right hand. The Messenger of God nodded, and replied: "So are you guys ready?" "More than ever." Joshua spoke, and his weapon, the Chrono Wing gunblade appeared in his hand. Jon's Syn-Shkvall, or the Synergy of Shkvall, and the Masamune Daikatana appeared, one on his back and the other at his hip. He stretched out his right hand, and took the Keys to Hell from Gabriel's hand. "Go." The Archangel intoned, and Jon looked over at Joshua, who shook his head. "The elder one first." He grinned, extending his hand. Jonathan rolled his eyes before walking into the portal. Just as the Sealer of Fate was about to take a step into the portal, Gabriel spoke. "Lord Joshua?" The young man looked over at the Archangel, who smiled and gave him a thumbs up. "God's really happy with your decision. He's even throwing a party with me and Michael to celebrate it!" Joshua laughed, and returned a thumbs up to Gabriel. "I live to please Him." And he stepped through the portal. ************ w00t. the return of the Restorers...inspired by the Sandman comic series. Okay. I actually had about 10+ pages of things to write, but thanks to blogger's lousy server i lost EVERYTHING. So I'm just going to talk generally about things. Like how dreams affect me so well. (btw, this section consisted of 4 pages) Like how a certain group of people. could be the second greatest thing and yet the worst thing in one's life. Okay. I'll elaborate a little. The few reason I lost a few friends that were brothers to me were because of them. The reasons why I fell AND got back up again was because of them. Can you guess? Never mind. Constantine was great. The only problem is that Constantine said that Jesus was killed by the spear. I think not. Science shows that water separates from blood when the body dies. Thus when the Bible said that "blood and water gushed out"...you get the idea. The half-breeds were pretty cool(and I mean the angels), and Constantine became a believer(maybe) in the end. Of course the movie rather promotes the Catholic belief and the occult, so I won't say its good either. But of course, many of us don't understand that, having not really delved into the spiritual world. Hey, have you guys ever thought about using that movie to save souls? Not only that, we can also use it to clarify things that our non-Christian friends might have mistaken the Christian faith be. Lol. What the Devil has intended for evil, the Lord made it into good. I can't really think of anything else now. And I really need to rest. The doc says I've got a throat infection. Bleah. p.s My dad's one of the greatest guys in the world I think, but it feels like he doesn't care sometimes. Thank goodness my Heavenly Father never changes. *********** The lady stood in a field, the tall grasses and ferns the height of her shoulder. The sun was setting, and a breeze caressed her cheeks. She wore a rose-coloured shirt, with a forest-toned vest over it. Below she wore a simple long pair of green baggy pants. She caught a scent, and after awhile, an image of three girls armed with Chinese swords appeared in her mind. She grinned, and continued to stand there. A few minutes passed. Then the three girls that she saw came into view, their pretty faces contorted into angry expressions. They drew their swords and circled around her. She simply plucked a rose from the ground, and held it by its stalk. It was a white rose. They attacked, the blades whirling about the air. She ducked and weaved, her connection to Nature telling her where each attack would land. After ten minutes, the attacks slackened, and they hastened to catch her breath. It was then she attacked, the rose stalk sweeping left and right, catching all three of the Blade Dancers who attacked her. For awhile they stood, their swords still raised. Then they collapsed, each lying in a small puddle of blood. She lifted the rose to her lips and sniffed once, before throwing it away. It was now a red rose. A sound of clapping hands could be heard, and she turned, only to see a familiar young man smiling at her. He wore a cape of royal blue over his suit of silver-toned armour, and a gold cross was embossed on his breastplate. She spotted a longsword with its handgrip wrapped in blue leather at his side, and sensed a kind of power emanating from him. "Its just my aura. Nothing to worry about." He shrugged. "It's been a long time, Zhen Long" "Indeed. I see your skills have improved, Amy." "Yeah right. It's nothing really. You look rather impressive yourself." "I fight only those who go against the Lord." She hesitated. She wasn't a follower of his Christ, but she was quickly assured by his warm smile and the extending of his hand. "What brings you here to this place?" She asked, after they had settled down in a confortable area. "I needed...I needed someone to talk to." "I see. Go ahead." From then on it was a time of laughter, discussions, complaints, and several other things both of them couldn't remember. By the time they were finished, it was already past the witching hour. "You sure you don't need something to guide your way? I could send some fireflies and some other things to keep the Night-Witches away." Amy suggested. Joshua laughed at the notion, and simply shook his head. "The Word of God is a light onto my path. His Love guides me through the darkest night." Saying thus, he pulled the longsword Hyperion from its sheath and lifted it aloft. Immediately light seemed to explode from it, and the area was as bright, if not brighter than it was in the daytime, for tens of miles. "See you next time, Fiery Rose." "Good bye, Lightbringer." And thus they parted. josh fatesealer turned back time on 2/13/2005 12:00:00 am. |
